The entire staff of GODTEL, along with our residents, send our warmest greetings to each of you for this year’s celebration of the birth, as a human, of Jesus the Christ. May you know His peace, not like the world gives which is based on circumstances and possessions, but the deep-down assurance of the love and provision of the almighty Creator of all we see. His offer of salvation is free to whosoever will submit to Him. You are welcome to come to our Christmas Day feast to eat and visit with us. (Call for times.) Thanksgiving Day Report What a bountiful and delicious variety of foods we served at each of our mission locations. Bro June gave a brief devotion prior to serving the meal at each. We were in Nacogdoches at noon, Lufkin at 2:00 p.m. and in Livingston at 4:00. See the photos below for the total number of individuals fed at each mission. Our sincere thanks to the volunteers, including two coaches and many players from the SFA basketball team, who gave their time and effort to help prepare, set up, and serve the meals and to the individuals and businesses who donated items to make this day extra special. May God bless every one of you for your service to the homeless. Bro. June Update Bro. June is back in action and feeling well following his Nov. 16th heart attack requiring three stints in the veins leading to his heart. Thank you for your prayers and expressions of concern. ![]() Valuable Scrap Metal At the Nacogdoches mission last month, due to the diligent labor of Bro. June, Richard, Fred, and help from some of the residents, we cleaned out the scrap metal pile and generated over $800.00 needed income. We appreciate your scrap donations at each of our missions. Gray Paints White After we moved the women from the Staff house at the Nacogdoches mission early this year, we recognized that it was in dire need of repainting. God blessed us in September and October to have a retired house painter, Mr. Gray, stay with us. He was very agreeable to do the painting in exchange for the privilege of living at GODTEL. He did a fabulous job and moved out shortly after completing all the ceilings, walls, closets, cabinets, and shelves. I pray that God will bless him. ![]() Newsletter Adventure The newsletter is usually printed, folded, stuffed and sorted for mailing in Livingston, but last month the folks at the Nacogdoches mission learned what it takes to prepare the printed papers to be sent out. Because the folding machine was malfunctioning, we hand-folded the papers in my office. (See photo below.) The complete process took two-days’ labor involving more than 10 different workers, some of whom worked for a few minutes and others worked diligently for 12 hours over two days. The last envelope was taped right at 5:00 p.m. the day before they were to be mailed. It is a blessing to have such willing workers “volunteer” to help get the necessary jobs done when we have a need. Christian Help Center Request With the projections of a cold winter ahead, our clothing closet is in need of men’s and women’s warm clothing and coats and jackets. Clothing items are given to those in need at no cost. Comments are closed.
