Comedy of Errors or God IS in Control
The Lufkin GODTEL is blessed with regular guest cooks. I usually post reminders on our kitchen refrigerators each month with the date and the group’s name. I had a memory malfunction…I posted a particular group coming in and the date “scheduled” to come in that evening. Five o’clock came, 5:15pm, 5:20pm 5:25, 5:29 and our cooks were not here. A small panic attack was beginning. Martin told Joseph to pull out the peanut butter and jelly and bread. Some folks were not thrilled with the menu that evening, but flexibility was the word for the night. Nobody went hungry. The next morning I realized my miscalculation. I had posted the group to come one week early. I apologized to Dolores.
Then…the same morning I realized that error, another situation arose. One of our other groups called to get the “number of residents” for the meal that evening. Again, I had a memory malfunction. We had guest cooks coming that night that I had forgotten about. Dolores already had a menu planned and prepared for that evening. We put that aside and ate some delicious chicken spaghetti and enjoyed great fellowship with our guest cooks. I have now handed the “guest cooks” scheduling to Joseph and Jana. Once, again, I apologized to Dolores. And God blessed her with an easier work load the next day.
Comedy of errors or God is in control? I choose God is in control.
